The discussion in particular revolves around the fiscal rules (Stability and Growth Pact) which, according to Stiglitz, need to be overhauled, even if in the past decade some new avenues opened up for promoting investment in Europe. Stiglitz also elaborates on questions of taxation, and shares his views about the 2019 Nobel laureates, who have been mainly working on the economics of poverty.
